Arista Ellis Park, son of Gilbert and Lizzie Park, was born in St. Clair county, Missouri, October 4, 1891 and died at Howard, Kansas, July 29, 1910 at 2 p.m., age 18 years, 9 months and 25 days.

In November 1898 the family removed to Wilson county, Kansas, residing at Buffalo eight years.  In February 1907, the family came to Howard; but Ellis, being then an invalid, went with two of his brothers to Roswell, New Mexico in quest of health.

On June 23, 1909, he returned to Howard to spend the remainder of his days with his parents.

For four years Ellis was an invalid; and in all these years of affliction he was never known to utter a single word of complaint.  He was ever brave and hopeful; and when the summons came to come up higher, he was ready, and passed peacefully to his rest.

Ellis leaves a father and mother four brothers and two sisters to mourn his departure.

Funeral services, conducted by Elder S. N. Fear, assisted by the ministers of Howard, were held at the home Monday August 1, at 10 a.m., in the presence of a large gathering of sympathizing friends.
