This subject was brought up two or three years ago.

A number of new light poles have been put in on Wabash Street in Howard the last couple days.

Forgot to bring my camera, so cannot post any photos.

The new poles replace those put in in the early 50s, so that makes the current ones at least sixty years old.

The new ones require new footings, so they have to break concrete and dig before each one goes in.

Things do not seem to last like they use to, so I am wondering if theses will last even 50 years.

One positive thing is that the footings will require an area around them that is not uneven , cracked or dangerous.  This may prevent people from falling in the area.
