[Patriot]

House supposedy contains massive quantities of exotic explosives.
They build an hollow, interior, 2x4 sheet rocked wall, 19 feet tall, around the place to 'protect' neighboring homes from debris & shrapnel.
They employ strategically placed incendiaries to create a really hot fire to burn this place down in short order.
No bangs or booms during the blaze.

I just get a weird gut feeling about this one.



Authorities: Burn cleared California house of explosives

The house was deemed too dangerous for bomb squads because clutter inside the house was feared to conceal a large volume of volatile explosives, authorities said. San Diego County authorities decided the fire was the safest way to destroy the homemade explosive and hazardous chemicals inside the house...

...George Djura Jakubec, the resident of the home, had asked the judge Wednesday to delay the home razing so that his lawyer could retrieve evidence. But the judge ruled against the appeal...

...Jakubec, a 54-year-old computer software consultant, was arrested and is being held in lieu of $5 million bail on bomb-making and bank robbery charges...


Calif. bomb house site declared safe after burn

ESCONDIDO, Calif. (AP) — Two days after an explosives-laden house was destroyed in a carefully orchestrated burn that played out on television screens across the country, the site of the so-called "bomb factory" was declared safe Saturday by California authorities.

The toxins inside the home were neutralized within 20 minutes without any major explosions as experts had predicted after tests, officials said.

Sheriff Bill Gore said afterward that it was a "textbook" operation that would be studied if similar situations arose in the United States.
