I think the time is upon us, here and now, today, to leave the Department of Education and Bush's 'solution' No Child Left Behind, behind, and finally free up our schools from federal control.

It has been said that the most effective way to conquer a man is to capture his mind. There is no slave more devoted, no disciple more dedicated than one who has become completely obsessed with the vision of what he considers to be a great idea.

Lenin bragged: "Give me a child for eight years and it will be a Bolshevist forever."

Adolph Hitler declared: "In my great educative work, I am beginning with the young."

Karl Marx, setting the modern stage for men like Lenin, Hitler, and Khrushchev outlined a ten-point plan to be used against the most advanced capitalist nations to bring them to their knees. Plank ten: "Free education in public schools." (4) He knew, the phrase "free education" would be attractive, but deceptive and dishonest as well. What is really meant is the payment of federal taxes by you and me (a method of funding central control), and the granting of federal subsidies with grasping claws, for state and local schools (a method of enacting central control).

In America, Communist Party USA Founder William Z. Foster, wrote in 1932:

Conservative to the Core!
Gun control means never having to fire twice.
Social engineering, left OR right usually ends in a train wreck.

The public school systems are nothing more than indoctrination
centers for the fed's and socialists.    It seems to me that the
real way to "free up" the public schools is to abolish the public
school system and the Dept of Education.

I keep telling you to pull your kids out and start a charter school (publically funded) or home school them. Then you get the best of all worlds. When are you all going to stop talking about it and do it! My new neighbor across the street is home schooling her daughter, but also has three sons in public school. The neighbor next to her has a daughter in Newark Charter and on up the street, one goes to Fairwinds Christian School and another family sends their kids to Holy Angels Catholic school. So find something that fits you! Insults are easy, action is hard.

Find something that fits...how about the already stated Abolishment of the Public School system and the Dept. of Education?  Seems pretty damn fitting to me.
It is high time we eased the drought suffered by the Tree of Liberty. Let us not stand and suffer the bonds of tyranny, nor ignorance, laziness, cowardice. It is better that we die in our cause then to say that we took counsel among these.

Ok, and then what? I could make some comments about poor states that would no longer be able to afford even simple basic education for their poorest kids, but it wouldn't be welcomed nor understood, especially with more and more education turning to computers and internet learning.

Leave it for the States and local communities to decide what their kids are taught.  As for states being too poor...how much of those state budgets go towards social contol programs such as welfare?  How much money do the leaders of those states make?  How much state money is spent on things that do not directly benefit the state (an example of this type of program or project would be the $4800.00 the city of Longton gave to restore a ball park)?
