Joe Randy Lovell, age 51, a longtime resident of Udall, Kansas, passed away Friday, September 24, 2010 at his residence in Elk Falls, Kansas following an illness.  Randy Lovell was born August 28, 1959 in Athens, Alabama to E. N. and Magdalene (Ables) Lovell.

He graduated high school in Fayetteville, Tennessee.  He worked as a painter and drywall contractor.  He was a bluegrass and gospel musician and a regular at the Walnut Valley Festival in Winfield, Kansas and the Fish House in Sedan, Kansas.

Survivors of Joe Randy Lovell include his sons, Russell Lovell of Rock, Kansas and Lyndon Lovell of Udall, Kansas; his father, E. N. Lovell of Gardendale, Alabama; two sisters, Beth Lovell Staggs and Hope Lovell Fleming, both of Lewisburg, Tennessee; two brothers, Phillip "Bama" Lovell and his wife, Terrie of Elk Falls, Kansas and Eddie Lovell of Toney, Alabama; and three grandchidren Sabian, Camden, and Corigan.  He was preceded in death by his mother.

Cremation has taken place, and services will be announced at a later date.  The family suggests memorials to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice.  Contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed to David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 209 N. Douglas, Sedan, Kansas  67361.

Services for Randy Lovell will be held on Friday, October 1, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Udall Nazarene Church in Udall, Kansas.  There is a memorial set up for the Udall Nazarene Church Media Fund.
