Tony William Davis, 66, of Longton, Kansas, died Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at his home.  Tony was born August 3, 1943 in Aberdeen, Mississippi, the son of J.W. Davis.

On April 17, 1961, Tony joined the U.S. Army.  He served in Vietnam.  After serving his country, Tony received an honorable discharge from the service on October 20, 1967.  After the military, Tony worked as an over-the-road truck driver until he retired in 1990.  He currently helped mow the cemeteries in the Longton area.

Tony enjoyed fishing and meeting at the coffee shop to visit and tell stories with his friends.  On October 31 2008, Tony married Casandra D. Gilbert who survives at their home in Longton, Kansas.  He is also survived by 17 children and one sister.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation has been requested.  The family will hold a memorial service on Thursday, April 15, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. at the Longton United Methodist Church.  Online condolences may be left at www.countrysidefh.com.  Services are under the direction of Zimmerman Funeral Home, 206 E.
