William Eugene "Bill" Brown, age 75, a resident of Severy, Kansas, passed away Friday, March 5, 2010 at Via Christi St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, Kansas.  He was born on September 23, 1934 in Reed Springs, Missouri, the son of William and Ethylene (Collins) Brown.

On November 15, 1954, Bill was united in marriage to Florence Irene Heath in Humboldt, Kansas.  Over the years Bill worked in the oil fields, railroads, and water department in Kansas City.  He was a member of the Severy Baptist Church, American Legion Post #50 in Eureka, Kansas, National Rifle Association, and Police Association. Bill also enjoyed being a storm watcher.

Bill is survived by his wife, Florence Irene Brown of the home; one daughter, Joy Brown of Severy, Kansas; two sons, Gene Brown of Severy, Kansas and Joe Brown of Eureka, Kansas; three brothers, John Kent Watson of Winslow, Arizona, Richard Lynn Watson of Stockton, Missouri, and Steven Phillips Watson of Colony, Kansas; two sisters Estella Ann Robinson o Piedmont, Kansas and Ethylene Stephens of Emporia, Kansas; three grandchildren, Derrick Brown, Brittnay Watkins, and Dylan Brown; and one great-granddaughter, Jewel Watkins.  

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Virgil Brown; four brothers, Fred D. Watson, Jerry Joseph Watson, Gary Keith Watson, and Ronnie Lyle Watson; one sister, Francis Martin; and one grandson, Pete Brown.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at the Severy Baptist Church with the Rev. Tony Pameticky officiating.  Public viewing will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, March 8, 2010 at Zimmerman Funeral Home in Howard, Kansas.  Interment will be at South Lawn Cemetery in Severy, Kansas.  Family suggests contributions to the American Diabetes Association and may be left with the funeral home.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.countrysidefh.com.  Arrangements are under the direction of Zimmerman Funeral Home, 602 E.
