Joe C. Paasch, 71, passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center, Coffeyville, Kansas.  He was born March 3, 1938 in Lockwood, Missouri to Alfred Wesley and Ora Enza (Evans) Paasch. 

When he was young, the family moved to Knowles, Oklahoma where he grew up and attended school through the 8th grade.  He moved to Grenola, Kansas with his family when he was in the 9th grade where he completed his education.  In January 1957, Joe joined the U.S Army, serving until receiving an honorable discharge in April 1960.  Following his discharge, he returned to Grenola where he worked on ranches and later did construction contracting work.

Joe attended the Grenola United Methodist Church and was an active member of the Caney American Legion and American Legion Riders.  He enjoyed the Blue Grass Festival in Winfield, Kanss and was an active volunteer there for many years.

Survivors include three sons, Bobby Joe Paasch and wife Shelley of Coffeyville, Kansas, Michael Paasch and wife Carla of Pittsburg, Kansas, and Daniel Paasch of Texas; three daughters, Hope Paasch of Denver, North Carolina, Katy Paasch of Denver, North Carolina, and Gina Robinson of Arizona; four sisters, Peggy Sugg of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, Betty Nehring of Council Grove, Kansas, Mary Davis of Sedan, Kansas, and Freeda Paasch of Wichita, Kansas; and six grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 12, 2009 in the Grenola United Methodist Church, Grenola, Kansas.  Inurnment will be in the Greenlawn Cemetery at Grenola.

Friends may sign the register book from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Thursday and Friday, September 10-11, 2009, at the David W. Barnes Funeral  Home in Coffeyville, Kansas.  To leave a message for the family, please visit www.dwbfh.com.
