I thought I heard that the mother wanted to try alternative treatment, i.e. natural.  It brought to mind the treatment that was being touted in the 1970's.  I can't think of what it was called but it was obtained from the pits of apricots and was poisonous.  There was a man in Conway Springs that was really strong on it and was helping people go to Mexico to get it.  He later died of cancer.

Wilma, I think that was called Laetrile treatment. Myrna had a cousin that went thru  that and it helped for sevral years. I think a person had to go to Mexico to get that.

You're right.  Sometimes I can't remember, but I know it when I hear it.  My father had pancreatic cancer in 1976 and my brothers wanted to try it, but Daddy was too sick to make the trip.  He was gone two months after the cancer was diagnosed.
