Miss Elda May, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry May and Mr. Carl Lauffer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Lauffer, both of northwest of Howard, were united in marriage Saturday, May 4th at the Baptist parsonage in Independence, Kansas.  They were accompanied by Miss Lela May and Gene Lauffer.

Mrs. Lauffer has taught school six years in Elk County, the past two years at  Independence district, where she was most popular with both parents and pupils.

Mr. Lauffer has been working in Colorado.  He is a fine young gentleman and much respected by all who know him.

Mr and Mrs. Lauffer will make their home on the McKinney ranch east of town.
