You Haven't Been Paying Attention, America!

You awake each day to the Muslim muezzin call to prayer from the neighborhood mosque - as millions of Europeans already do.

Liberals espouse "diversity is our strength" as Islamic enforcers cruise the cities in their quest to shutter, or harass any establishment that is contrary to Islamic "sharia" Law.  Guns are confiscated and stiff penalties are dished out to citizens who defy the new anti-gun laws.  Women are told to cover their hair and face when in public.

You are cautious about attending public events or being part of any large crowd as these are the favorite targets of suicide bombers in their quest to exhibit violence against non-Muslims who resist conversion or surrender.  Dissent has been stifled since the Fairness Doctrine was reinstated.

A new Senator is sworn in, one of several Senators that have recently converted to the Muslim faith.  Muslim populated districts are increasingly changing the political landscape by sending more electees to Congress.

A recent ruling from the Supreme Court states sharia law does not violate the "separation of church and state." This ruling paves the way for Islamic controlled municipalities to govern every aspect of religious, political, and personal life of the local populace-- [amounting to a form of totalitarianism analogous to Communism].

The Hollywood Left gives up gay rights in favor of the much safer charms of polygamy.

As Mark Steyn [author of the New York Times bestseller "America Alone"] puts it, "The future belongs to the fecund and the confident. And the Islamists are both, while the West -- wedded to a multiculturalism that undercuts its own confidence, a welfare state that nudges it toward sloth and self-indulgence, and a childlessness that consigns it to oblivion -- is looking ever more like the ruins of a civilization."

If you think this can't happen, you haven't been paying attention to what's been happening in Europe and the UK.  Europe is almost certainly a goner, as Mark Steyn laments in his book, but America can still survive, prosper, and defend its freedom only if it continues to believe in itself, in the sturdier virtues of self-reliance (not government), in the centrality of family, and in the conviction that our country really is the world's last best hope.

The Muslims have a twenty year goal to conquer the West.  They have only a short 13 years remaining until victory, as their quest started in 2000.

.............the US is a whole different ball of wax than Europe..at least out here in my part of America. They have been "civilized" a hell of a lot longer than we have. Most of us came from mixin exiled dissidents in the first place, some of us with independant natives. In other words most of our ancestors were the people they couldn't whup in Europe so they either sent em over here to get rid of em cause they couldn't "civilize" em or they came of their own free will to get away from people they hated who tried to dominate them and couldn't. Those traditions are still alive and well out here. The people on the coasts may be gettin weak kneed but they don't represent the America that'll raise hell and put a chunk under it before they let somebody ram a religion they don't want down their throats OR make em live in fear. Send a suicide bomber out where Bubba lives and he or she will drop it before it gets close enough to do any harm. But that's just my humble opinion.

There are plenty of fear mongers among us and they aren't Muslims! As far as people on the coasts being weak kneed....watch it!!!    Great Britain has been dealing with terrorists for a very long time, (IRA) they aren't down yet and we won't be either.  Gasoline tankers on your highways and drunk or drug impaired drivers should be your bigger worry as its such a common problem.  This area saw lots of sadness and deaths this year, like every other year, and not one was from a "terrorist" plot of any nature.  Plots, shootings and arson by home grown goofballs yes, organized terrorists from outside our boundaries, no.  Yes, we do have people who watch and listen to protect us all. It's their job! It's the puffed up, self made vigilantes who scare me. We have them here too. Usually they have had some run in with the police already, usually for waving weapons around. We have premise histories on them so if an ambulance or fire call comes in, we have to stage some distance away until the place is cleared and secure. It's not nice to be searching a smoke filled building and suddenly come upon a nut case pointing a shot gun at you because he has his "rights."

Diane I'm not talkin about the loud-mouthed "oh the worlds comin to an end in 3 days" type nutcases! I'm talkin about the quiet law-abiding independant country people who don't mess with anybody much less run around waving their guns around doin stupid stuff UNLESS somebody brings it to em........then they finish it. They were raised to take care of business....

I don't really think the Muslims are goin to take us over.....but I have had up-close very bad experiences with Muslims and have no use at all for the religion. Period.

I should'nt have tarred all coastal people with the same brush.

As for Britian and the IRA.....Britian is to blame for the IRA even existing. If they had just left Ireland alone instead of holding on to Northern Ireland out of spite most of the mess could have been avoided. They had no right to it... still don't. The english did just as many brutal things to the Irish, they started it.

Pam, I wasn't referring to anything you said. (except for us weak kneed coasters... ;D)To me fear mongering and terrorism have no place in any of our lives. I know what Great Britain did, but terrorism in Britain or Ireland isn't right either. Too much collateral damage to suit me. Heck, our country is in bad shape right now and I think we did it to ourselves, no Muslim conspiracy needed.

You reckon there's some "fear mongering" to promote the bailouts?
