Not when it comes to constitutional law. You cannot override the constitution with a popular vote unless it is passed through congress, and ratified by all the states. Then the constitution may be ammended, and not before then.

The so called "Separation of Church and State " was not part of the "Constitution". The Phrase "Separation of Church and State" is thought to have come from a letter written by Thomas Jefferson in referring to wording in the First Amendment to the Constitution. The intent by our forefathers was to make sure that the people would be free to worship without interference by the Government, which had been a problem in England. Also they wanted to be sure that the church did not persecute the people as the Church of England did. Hopefully that Amendment will continue to be upheld by the courts.

I wasn't referring to the constitution.  I was referring to this class where ONE student complained and the REST OF THE CLASS had to change
