my mother had many cute saying too, but one that stuck with me all my life is,
"remember, walls have ears"! That always makes me think befoe I speak and be careful what I say!

One grandma would read every thing she saw out of the car window.  When ever we came to a Rail Road Crossing she would recite, "Railroad Crossing, Look out for the Cars"; can you spell that without any "R"s?   T H A T

When we would travel , my daddy would say.. "Oh look Girls! See that cemetary? Only certain kinds of people are buried there.... and of course we would say" What kind?"
And he would say "Dead".

(I pulled that on Kjell one time too and he fell for it ..hook line and sinker.. )   


When Sherri and I were misbehaving or trying to talk while adults were talking .. mama would lean down and quietly say to us..
" Right now...Little girls should be seen and not heard". We knew then that we needed to quiet down.
