Murl F. "Buck Shot" Brown, 60, of Grenola, Kan. passed away Wednesday evening, Nov. 28, 2007 at South Central Kansas Regional Medical Center in Arkansas City.

He was born on February 19, 1947 in Huntington, Ark.; he was the son of Bert and Londa (Sims) Brown.  He was raised in Mansfield and Huntington, Ark. areas and received his educaiton in Mansfield.

In 1965, Murl moved to Kansas to work for AMOI and later owned his own trucking service.  He was a disabled truck driverknown to most as "Buck Shot".  He was united in marriage to Joyce Schulte on Jan. 3, 1972 in Wichita.

He enjoyed woodowrking, fixing up old cars, playing card games and checkers, gardening and visiting with his children and family.  He loved playing practical jokes on others.  Murl touched the hearts of all those who met him.

He family includes his wife, Joyce Brown of Grenoa; sons, Murl Brown, Jr., of Wichita, James and wife Rachel of Altanta; Russell and Katherine of Grenold, Kenny and wife Amy of Grenola.  Daughter Mary Brown of Grenola; three granchildren, Lacy and Molly Brown of Atlanta and Murl Brown III of Wichita; three brothers, Raymond of Mansfield, Ark; Gerald Brown and wife Barbara of Mount Ida, Ark., W.E. Brown of Cameron, Okla. and three sisters, Evelyn Bowers and Bessie Pugh both of Greenwood, Ark and Geneva Plum of Alma, Ark; two sister-in-laws, Karen Brown and Linda Brown of Mansfield, Ark., and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents Murl was presided in death by his bothers Delbert, Lester and Tommy; sisters, Reba and Mary. 

Funeral serviceds will be held on Monday, Dec. 3, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the Christian Church in Grenola.  Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery.  Online condolences may be left at www.milesfuneralservice.com.
