Mt. Olive Church

I'm not sure if this is the correct thread for this or not, so if it should be moved to Genealogy please do.

Here are some great photos of the Mt. Olive Church that I understand was about 3 miles south and 3 miles west of Moline.  The church was built in 1909 and the exterior photo was taken August 21, 1910.  The caption on the back of the interior photo reads Mt. Olive Christian Church.

I am curious to know more about this church and their practices. I know that the Hornings were active members and I have heard that they were "foot washing Dunkards".  My research on the internet tells me that Dunkards or Dunkers practice baptism by immersion in a flowing river and that they perform a Foot Washing ceremony similar to what Jesus did in John 13: 1-30.

Can anyone shed more light on this group and how they might have practiced their religion in Elk County in the early 20th Century?

I hope some of our older members can tell us about this church as this is something I had never heard of.  Maybe someone can look in the Elk County History book and tell us something.

Was it Mt. Olive or Mt. Olivet?

I blew up the sign and looked at it. There are only five letters, and they look like they spell "Olive."
