Patricia Joan "Pat" Hall was born in Moline, Kansas on December 1, 1933 to John and Othello (Wood) McSpadden.  Her faith has become sight!  After many years of blindness, Pat is now able to see clearly in heaven.  She went to be with her heavenly father on July 20, 2024 in Eureka, Kansas.

Pat attended Moline Public Schols in Moline, Kansas and graduated from Moline High School in 1952. She attended Wichita University in Wichita, Kansas and loved to tell the story of being a cheerleader at the 1954 NIT basketball tournament in New York City.  She married Don Hall in 1956.  They had three children and later divorced.

Pat spent many years working with savings, loans, computer supplies, and banking.  In her retirement, she was dedicated to helping people with low vision live their fullest lives. She was president of the Hays, Kansas chapter of NKAVI (Northwest Kansas Association of the Visually Impaired) for several years.  She met every challenge in life with grace, good humor, and courage.  She never let her blindness define or limit her but rather used it to enlarge and improve the lives of all she came in contact with.  Pat accumulated many dear friends throughout her life and stayed in contact with them over the years.  She was a dedicated friend and a blessing to all who knew her.

Pat is survived by her children, Kim Lanning of Eudora, Kansas, Mike (Norma) Hall of Elk Falls, Kansas, and Stacie (Jerry) Phillips of Westminster, Colorado; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Marge White; and her son-in-law, Robert Lanning.

A memorial service will be held on August 16, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Countryside Funeral Home in Howard, Kansas. Inurnment will follow at the Moline Cemetery in Moline, Kansas.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with Audio-Reader Network, a provider of literary supplies to those with low vision. Make checks payable to KU Endowment which can be left with or mailed to the funeral home.  Countryside Funeral Home, 206 E. Washington, Howard, Kansas 67349 has been entrusted with arrangements.

Ole Granny

Sorry I missed this.  Beautiful lady inside and out. Loved her mother and Dad. My sympathy to the family.

But rather openings where our loved ones,
Shine down to let us know they are happy."
