C.M. Crismas honored with surprise birthday Party

About 100 relatives and friends gathered at Munson's Cafe in Howard, Saturday evening, March 20, to help Clarence M. Crismas celebrate his 80th birth anniversary.

The party was sponsored by his daughter, JoAnne Clevenger, and her husband, Eldon, of Wichita, and it was a complete surprise.  When friends and relatives began singing "Happy Birthday," Clarence turned to Albert Criger and asked, "Whose birthday are we celebrating?" and Albert replied, "Yours!"

The table was centered with a beautiful birthday cake with candles and a money tree which was a gift from Mr. Crismas' many friends.  Ice cream, cake and coffee were served to the guests.

Mr. Crismas has lived in this community all of his life.  He owned and operated The Toggery, a men's clothing store, and a dry cleaning establishment for many years.  After selling the clothing store, he has been engaged in ranching and cattle raising at the "Hardly Able Ranch" east of Howard.

(Below is a picture of C. M. Crismas and his daughter, Mrs. Eldon Clevenger, that was taken at his birthday party.     Don done the best he could in enhancing and tweaking the photo copy, but it still didn't come out the best in the world.  To the new members- please click on photo to enlarge.)

I think that picture is great.  And our member, Jody, is the one and only JoAnne Clevenger.

It is a good picture.  I wonder how it looked before the tweaking.
