Virginia Kay Crowell, age 62, of Longton, Kansas, passed away June 6, 2024 at her residence.  She was born October 27, 1961 to parents, Patrick E. Crowell and Sara Nell Odell.

Virginia enlisted into the United States Army where she proudly served her country.  While in the military, she also participated in volleyball and softball teams representing the Army.  She also participated in playing softball and volleyball in Coffeyville, Kansas as well.  Growing up, Virginia would always go fishing, trying to come home with a full stringer of fish to feed the whole family.  She would also dry snakeroot and sell it to help out with taking care of the family.

Virginia will be known as a very hard worker who loved all of her family very much, especially her adopted kids.  She also would do anything she could to help anyone.

Virginia is survived by her life partner, Janet Minko; her father, Patrick Crowell; daughters, Edna Crowell and Lexi Crowell; siblings, Becky Macy, Debbie (Gregg) Denholm; Steven (Kristan) Crowell, Patrick (Melanie) Crowell, Christy (Darrell) Crowell, Kathy (Paul) Folsom; and Charles (Ellen) Crowell; grandchildren, Annabelle and Ezra; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.  She is preceded in death by her mother, Sara Nell Odell and her sister, Judy Andra.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at Countryside Funeral Home in Fredonia, Kansas at 1:00 p.m.  Memorials to Longton Recreation may be left with or mailed to Countryside Funeral Home, 420 S. 20th Street, Fredonia, Kansas which has been entrusted with arrangements.
