Daniel Milton Parker, age 73, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away on December 21, 2022 surrounded by loved ones.  He was born on March 13, 1949 in Wichita, Kansas to John and Ruby (Hemry) Parker.

Danny grew up in Howard, Kansas and attended local schools, graduating from Howard High School in 1967.  He then went on to study Vocal Music at Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas.  After his graduation in 1971, he was a teacher and coach in South Haven, Kansas and Howard, Kansas schools. 

In 1974, Danny embarked on a 43-year career in law enforcement.  He served as a patrol officer and detective with the Wichita Police Department until 1996.  He was proud to have helped solve several major crimes during his time with WPD and was known for his exceptional interviewing and interrogation skills.  He also served as a member of a FBI Violent Crimes Task Force.  After retiring from WPD, he became an instructor at the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center until 2005.  Danny then served as Chief of Police in both Concordia and Winfield, Kansas before retiring in May 2017.

Danny married Tanya F. Daniels on July 13, 1984.  They enjoyed attending their sons' athletic events, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.  Danny also enjoyed singing and participated in a number of activities including fishing, softball, and golf.  He will be remembered as a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend.

Danny is survived by his wife, Tanya; sons, Andre' (Elizabeth), Lance (Stacey), and Brian; and seven grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ruby Parker; three brothers, Kenneth Parker, William "Bill" Parker, and Robert "Bob" Parker; one sister, Dorothy Hunt; and his son, Sgt. Evan Parker. 

Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  The family requests that memorials be made to the Kansas Coalition Against Sexual and Domestic Violence at 634 SW Harrison Street, Topeka, Kasnas 66603 or www.kcsdv.org/donate.  Danny was passionate about teaching and training law enforcement officers in this particular area.  Wulf-Ast Mortuary of Colwich, Kansas has been entrusted with arrangements.
