Isabelle Arlene Bennett, age 95, of Louisville, Nebraska, passed away on September 28, 2022 at the Louisville Care Center.  She was born on October 20, 1926 in Kiowa, Kansas to Elmer and Gladys (Sandy) Ward. 

While living in Norman, Oklahoma, Isabelle met Robert Jackson Bennett, a young Navy man training there during World War II.  They were united in marriage on June 26, 1944 in Norman, Oklahoma.  They had four children, Rebecca, Gloria, Sherell, and Robert, Jr.  The Bennetts made their home in Moline, Kansas in 1947 when Robert left the Navy.  They spent the remainder of their married life in Moline. 

Isabelle worked as a beautician and operated Bennett's Corner Store for many years.  Community involvement was important, and she enjoyed her participation with the American Legion Auxiliary Unit #388, Order of the Eastern Star, LaDonia Chapter #243, and the Moline United Methodist Church.  She was described as a great seamstress and exceptional cook, and she enjoyed going dancing and playing cards with friends.  Throughout the years, she enjoyed time with family during summer months at their lake cabin, boating and fishing, traveling in their RV, and in later years, winters spent near Brownsville, Texas.

Isabelle is survived by her daughters, Sherry (Bert) Knight of Bellevue, Nebraska and Rebecca Thetford of La Crosse, Kansas; 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; brother, Elmer (Lynnetta) Ward, Jr. of Mountain View, Arkansas; and sister, Joan Franzen of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.  She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Bennett, Sr.; her son, Robert "Bobby" Bennett, Jr.; her daughter, Gloria Jean Bennett; and her grandsons, Roland Bennett and Sawyer Knight; 

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Moline Cemetery in  Moline, Kansas.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Fusselman-Allen-Harvey Funeral Home of Louisville, Nebraska.  The family suggests memorials be directed to the Moline Public Library in Moline, Kansas.
