McCARTY, Scott Allen "Skin" - b. December 17, 1964 - d. February 1, 2021

On February 1, 2021, Scott Allen "Skin" McCarty passed away at the age of 56 at St. Joseph Via Christi Hospital in Wichita, Kansas.  He was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado on December 17, 1964 to Jack and Patricia McCarty.

The family moved to Moline, Kansas in 1970.  As a youth, Skin was very active in sports, achieving honors in basketball and baseball.  He graduated from West Elk High School in Howard, Kansas in 1983 and continued his education at Neosho County Community College in Chanute, Kansas with a baseball scholarship.

Skin worked construction and oil field jobs until he began his career at Kelly Manufacturing Company in Grenola, Kansas in 1997 where he remained all of his worknig years.  After having three daughters together, Skin married Shelly Massie on June 22, 1994.  They spent 16 years together.  He loved all of his family very much.

Skin loved Ted Nugent, the Dallas Cowboys, the Chicago Cubs, and the Kansas Jayhwks.  He had many friends that he considered family.  He was very loved and will be missed by many.  The family greatly appreciates all the support from the community.

Skin is survived by his mother, Pat McCarty of the home; his brother, Eric "Rick" McCarty of Independence, Kansas; his sister, Kristi (Todd) Laney of Osage City, Kansas; his nephews, Jason Laney of Wichita, Kansas and Nick Laney of Moline, Kansas; his daughters, Shaylynn (Kaitlin) Jacobs of Severy, Kansas, Shawnah (Jace) Herring of Clearwater, Kansas and Cheyenne McCarty of Clearwter, Kansas; and grandchildren, Abigail and Brennan Herring and Maliyah Gantt, all of Clearwater, Kansas.  He is preceded in death by his father, Jack McCarty. 

Family and friends gathered and celebrated Skin's life on February 6, 2021 at the Dreamsweaver Bar in Moline, Kansas.
