Clifford I. Jones, 92, of Eureka, Kansas, passed away May 20, 2018 at Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka.  He was born on August 25, 1925 in Fall River, Kansas, the son of Grover Cleveland and Tena Ellen (Wormington) Jones.

After school, Clifford joined the United States Coast Guard and served during World War II.  After he returned, he worked as a carpenter and also as the Greenwood County Undersheriff for several years.  On April 27, 1949 in El Dorado, Kansas, Clifford married Nadine Book.  Clifford and Nadine were married for 69 years.

Clifford was known for his yard art work.  He was a member of the VFW, Masons, and the Kansas Peace Officers Association.,  In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.  Including all of his hobbies, Clifford's main enjoyment was his family and grandchildren.

Clifford is survived by his wife, Nadine of the home; his daughter, Sharon Eade of Eureka, Kansas; his son, Don Jones and wife, Frankie of Douglass, Kansas; 11 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.  He was preceded in death by his parents; three children, Marlin Wayne Jones, Donna Aliene Foulke, and Roger Dean Jones; brothers, Eldon Jones, Clayton Jones, Eugene Jones, and Ray Jones; and sisters, Wilm Jean Staus and Wanda Ruth Lee.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 24, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home in Howard, Kansas.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time.  Burial will be held in South Lawn Cemetery in Severy, Kansas.  Online condolences may be left at www.countrysidefh.com.  Memorials have been suggested to the Kansas Peace Officers and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.  Services are entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home, 206 E.
