Ammie Elaine Rankin, 78 years young, of Longton, Kansas, passed from this life on December 4, 2017 with family by her side at the Eureka Nursing Center in Eureka, Kansas.  She was born January 22, 1939 to Joseph and Lilly Dougherty of Eureka, Kansas.

Ammie met and married the love of her life, Roger Rankin, on March 3, 1994 and lived in Longton, Kasnas at their farm which hosted many family events through the years.  She remained in Longton after Roger passed and was actively engaged in many clubs and organizations.  She was a member of the Christian Community Church of Longton, the Daughters of the Revolution, the Longton Historical Society, and the Longton Library.  Her love of God, family, friends, and community will be missed.  Ammie was a walking miracle from God who had a positive influence on every life she came in contact with. 

Ammie had two brothers, Dean and Bob, who preceded her in death, and she is survived by one sister, Margaret Clare who was with her during her passing.  She had four children, Carl Allen Johnson who preceded her in death, and survived by Mary Love of Longton, Kansas, LeaAnn Jones of Versailles, Missouri, and Tina Jackson of San Antonio, Texas and their spouses.  She loved her six grandchildren, Derick, Rochelle, Broc, Price, Cody, and Joshua.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 7, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home in Howard, Kansas.  Funeral service will be held on Friday, December 8, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Christian Community Church, 203 Wyandotte, Longton, Kansas.  Interment will follow at Longton Cemetery.  Online condolences may be left at www.countrysidefh.com.  Memorials have been suggested to the Longton City Library or the Longton Historical Society and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home, 206 E.
