Blake Douglas "Thelbert" Stapleford of Fall River, Kansas died on Thursday, July 28, 2016 near Toronto, Kansas at the age of 11.  He was born on July 18, 2005 in El Dorado, Kansas, the son of Douglas Scott and Stormy Dawn (Thompson) Stapleford.

Blake was raised in the Severy and Fall River, Kansas area and attended Lincoln Elementary School in Fredonia, Kansas, completing 4th grade in 2016.  Blake loved sports, especially baseball, and he was an avid fan of K-State.

Blake is survived by his mother and stepfather, Stormy and Jason Miser of Emporia, Kansas; his father and stepmother, Douglas and Sonya Stapleford of Fall River, Kansas; siblings, Adrianna Stapleford, Caitlynn Stapleford, Waylon Smith, Lylly Stapleford, Chelsea Smith, and Cinch Stapleford; paternal grandparents, Raymond and Irene Stapleford of Severy, Kansas, Billy Ecton and Susie Buffalow of Fall River, Kansas, and Teresa Morgan of Fredonia, Kansas; maternal grandparents, Mike and Deanna Choens of Beaumont, Kansas; paternal great-grandparents, Jack and Donna Suter of Wichita, Kansas; and maternal great-grandmother, Marilyn Thompson of Howard, Kansas.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at the Severy United Methodist Church in Severy, Kansas with Mr. Mike Myers of Lincoln Elementary School officiating.  Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Eureka, Kansas.  Visitation hours are set from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to the Fredonia Recreation Commission.  Contributions may be sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home, 121 N.
