Marjorie R. Lampson, age 84, longtime resident of Grenola, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2016 at Golden Living Center in Wellington, Kansas.  She was born April 16, 1931 in Winfield, Kansas to Chester Dale Archer and Dorothy (Moore) Archer.

Marjorie grew up in rural Grenola and later graduated from Sedan High School in Sedan, Kansas.  On October 15, 1950, she married Robert Franklin Lampson at the First Christian Church in Sedan.  They made their home in rural Grenola their entire life except for a stint in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Marjorie worked for Caney Valley Electric for a few years and then worked as a nursing home administration for over 25 years in Cedar Vale, Winfield, and Moline, Kansas.  She also was a farm wife and raised her 6 children.

Marjorie was a member of the Grenola Christian Church, Royal Neighbors, Moline Music & Literary Club, and was a longtime member of the Four County Mental Health Board.  She also served on the Grenola Historical Society Board for many years.  She enjoyed her family, knitting, crossword puzzles, sewing, reading, and her flowers.

Marjorie is survived by three sons, Wayne Lampson and wife, Donna of Kansas City, Kansas, Craig Lampson and wife, Sheri of Sedan, Kanss, and Charles Lampson and wife, Rhonda of Sedan, Kansas; two daughters, Sandra Lane of Benton, Kansas and Cheryl Wright and husband, Javan of Wellington, Kansas; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob on May 29, 2000;  her son, Wade Lampson; and her parents.

Church services will be held on Friday, April 15, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Grenola Christian Church with Minister Travis Wilcoxen officiating.  Burial will follow at the Greenlawn Cemetery in Grenola, Kansas.  Visitation will be held on Friday, April 15, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. to service time at the Grenola Christian Church.  The family has suggested memorials to the Grenola Elevator Museum or the Grenola Christian Church.  Remembrances may be left in care of the Dickens Family Funeral Home, 209 N. Douglas, Sedan, Kansas 67361.
