Wayne Arthur Austin's life began on August 27, 1943 in Towanda, Kansas.  He was born to Neil and Betty (Rogers) Austin.  He passed away on December 21, 2015, having reached the age of 72 years.

Wayne graduated from Severy High School in Severy, Kansas.  He was a member of the U.S. Armed Forces serving in the United States Army.  After his service time, he married his first wife, Edith Moore.  He had two gas stations in Severy.  He then moved to Garden City, Kansas where he worked for Bocat Equipment.  Later, he and his family moved to Elbing where he had a small farm.  Wayne then began the enjoyment of raising cattle, Mustang horses, and buffalo while working at Circle E Feedlot.  He eventually got a job at Beechcraft in Newton, Kansas.  After spending 18 years on the farm, the family moved to Whitewater, Kansas where he continued to work for Beechcraft-Raytheon while operating  a small gas station and convenience store called Buffalo Corner.  He later married Tsering Chozom on August 12, 1992 in El Dorado, Kansas.  They began another career in the crafting business where they worked together making crafts with barbwire and barn wood.

Wayne's survivors include his wife, Tsering, of the home; his sons, Heath (Michal) Austin of Potwin, Kansas and Mike Austin of Andover, Kansas; his daughter, Yangchen (Maciek) Zawadzki of Wichita, Kansas; brothers, Dale (Polly) Austin of Augusta, Kansas and Eldon (Mary) Austin of Eureka, Kansas; sisters, Evelyn (Dan) Driskell of Cherryvale, Kansas and Karen (David) Brown of Florida; 9 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his spouse, Edith; his parents; and a sister, Shirley Posch.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 28, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at The Benton Church in Benton, Kansas.  Memorial contributions in Wayne's name may be directed to The Benton Church in care of Carlson Colonial Funeral Home, 200 S. Star, El Dorado, Kansas 67042, which is in charge of funeral arrangements.
