Dr. Roma Jean Turner, D.C., passed away in Bartlesville, Oklahoma on August 20, 2015 at the age of 71 after falling at her home and receiving a traumatic head injury.  She was born on July 14, 1944 in Moline, Kansas to George Edwin Turner and Martha Jean (Sommers) Turner.

At the age of three, she moved with her family to Chanute, Kasnas where she later graduated from Chanute High School.  She attended Pittsburg State University where she received honors and distinction and a Bachelor's Degree in Music.  She then became a Doctor of Chiropractic Medicine, graduating from the Cleveland Chiropractic College in Kansas City, Missouri.  Roma Jean had a successful chiropractic business in Kansas City, Branson, and Springfield, Missouri for many years.  She was also an ordained minister, Reiki Master, Certified BioEnergetic Synergistic Technician, nutrition consultant, practiced acupressure, and an acupuncturist.

She taught herself to play the piano in the 1990s and enjoyed playing any musical instrument she could get her hands on.  Roma was a gadget guru and avid QVC shopper.  She loved preparing for any possible future disaster of any kind which might include power outage, tornado damage, etc.

Roma returned to Moline in 2010 and adopted nearly everyone in town.  The community loved her and supported her as family and as the status quo de-stabilizer that she was.  The world has lost a large amount of knowledge in this small bundle that we knew and loved.  Roma was the last survivor of the Turner family and was well-loved.  She made a lasting impression to all she encountered.  She was preceded in death by both of her parents.

Cremation has been requested.  A graveside service will be held at the Moline Cemetery on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 5:00 p.m.  All are invited to the service as well as a Celebration of Life following in the Moline City Park, 410 E. 3rd, Moline, Kansas.  Music, Roma stories, and pictures will be shared, ending the evening with a blast of fireworks.  A memorial has been established as the Roma Turner Educational Memorial Scholarship Fund.  Contributions may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.  Online condolences may be left at www.countrysidefh.com.  Services have been entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home, 206 E. Washington, Howard, Kansas 67349.

I was so shocked, and sorry, to read that Roma Jean had passed away.  I didn't know anything about her accident.  What a shame!  We really enjoyed our "Forum" posts, for a long time!
