Judy Mae Wolfe, 62, of Grenola, died Monday at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

A celebration of life service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Grenola Christian Church with Brother Wallace Wartick, Brother Bill LaPorte and Brother Dee Wolfe offciating.  A private family service will be held on Friday monring.  Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Grenola.  Pallbearers will be Chase Boyd, Luke Connelly, Perry Fulsom, Mick Holt, Fred Reeves and Jim Wolfe.  The honorary pallbearers will be Brandon Wolfe, Jackson Wolfe, Ron Allison, Lynn Kelly, Dean Keplinger, Duane Kessinger, Tom Kessinger and Jack Perrigo.

Freinds may call at Zimmerman Funeral Home of Howard from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday, with the family receiving visitors from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and after the service Friday after the celebration of life at the church on Friday.

Memorials are suggested to Grenola Christian Church and contributions may be left with the funeral home.

Mrs. Wolfe was born June 20, 1944 in the Grafton area, the daughter of Hersel Freeman and Mae Beatrice (Lane) Wells.  As a young child she moved with her family to Sedan.  She grew up in Sedan and graduated from Sedan High School in 1962.

She married David Franklin Wolfe on June 3, 1962 at the Methodist Church in Sedan, and they made their home in Grenola.  Mr. Wolfe survives at the home.

Mrs. Wolfe worked for the Moline school system as secretary and bus driver from 1962 until the school system was transferred to a new district.  She then worked for U.S.D. 462 school system as secretary and treasurer, as well as bus driver, until her retirement in 2001.

She was a member of Grenola Christian Church, where she was pianist and a member of the Ladies Bible Study.  She and her husband, along with jack and Judy Perrigo, also had a gospel singing group "The Gospel DJ's" from 1968 to 1984.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Wolfe is survived by two sons, Robert "Rob" Wolfe, Moline, and David "Dee" Wolfe, Oblong, Ill.; a daughter, Shana Boyd, Grenola; a brother, Leon Wells, Grenola; her stepfather, Eldon Munday, Hamilton; and seven grandchildren.

Judy Mae Wolfe, 62, of Grenola died Monday, Jan. 8, 2007 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.  She was born on June 20, 1944 in the Grafton area near Sedan to Hersel Freeman and Mae Beatrice (Lane) Wells.  At about the age of one, she moved with her parents and brother to the west side of Sedan where her parents had built a home.  She lived and grew to womanhood there, and graduated from Sedan High School in 1962.

Judy married David Franklin Wolfe on June 3, 1962 at the Methodist Church in Sedan, and made their home in
grenola.  To this union three children were born, Robert Allen, David Everett and Shana LeAnn.

She worked for the Moline school system as Secretary and bus driver from 1962 until the school system was transferred to a new district, until her retirement in 2001, giving up the bus route prior to her retirement.

Judy and Dave along with Jack and Judy Perrigo had their own gospel singing group "The Gospel D J's" from 1968 until 1984, traveling many places to perform.  Judy loved music and was pianist fro the Grenola Christian Church where she was a member.  Judy played for many weddings, anniversaries, birthdays and funerals.  She was very active in church activities and created, and maintained, the church website.  Judy also published the monthly church newsletter.  She was a faithful member of the Ladies Bible Study.

Judy was very active in her grandchildren's lives, attending every sporting event and music activity in which they participated.

Survivors include her husband Dave of the home; her sons, Robert "Rob", his wife Debbie and their children Brandon and Allison of Moline and David "Dee", his wife Judie and children Erica and Jackson of Oblong, Ill.; her daughter, Shana Boyd, her husband Vince and their children Chase, D'Sha and Alysa of Grenola; her brother Leon Wells and his wife Freida of Grenola; her mother-in-law, Meda Wolfe of Grenola; her step-father, Eldon Munday of Hamilton and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents Hersel Wells and Bea Munday.

A celebration of her life was held Friday, Jan. 12 at the Grenola Christian Church with Brother Wallace Wartick, brother Bill La Porte and Brother Dee Wolfe officiating.

A private service for the family was held on Friday morning at the Grenola Christian Church, followed by interment at Greenlawn Cemetery in Grenola.  The pallbearers were Chase Boyd, Luke Connelly, Perry Fulsom, Mick Holt, Fred Reeves and Jim Wolfe.  The honorary pallbearers will be Brandon Wolfe, Jackson Wolfe, Ron Allison, Lynn Kelly, Dean Keplinger, Duane Kessinger, Tom kessinger and Jack Perrigo.
