Mildred May Foust was born September 25, 1959 to Edward and Clara Hainlen and died March 16, 2014 in Sedan, Kansas at the age of 98.

She was raised in Oklahoma as a small child with her sister, who has passed before her.  She attended Phillips University in Enid, Oklahoma for two years and then married John T. Foust on September 5, 1939.  Mildred and John were married for 72 years until John passed away in April 2013.

Mildred worked in catalog sales for Sears Roebuck Company in Lincoln, Nebraska and Houston, Texas for 21 years.  As a pastor's wife, she helped her husband in the ministry at many churches including the Christian Church in Dewey, Oklahoma, Christian Church in Chanute, Kansas, Central Park Christian Church in Topeka, Kansas, Lubbock View Christian Church in Lubbock, Texaas, East Lincoln Christian Church in Lincoln, Nebraska, Oaks Christian Church in Houston, Texas, and Trinity Christian Church in Houston, Texas.  In 1985, they retired and moved to John's hometown of Moline, Kansas where they renovated an old house into their home of 28 years.

Mildred dedicated her life to ministry and shared her talents as a Sunday School teacher, church pianist, women's fellowship leader, choir director, and more.  She served Friendship Meals and made frequent visits to those in the hospital and nursing home.  She enjoyed crafts of all kinds but was known most for her creative use of plastic canvas.  She made frames, notebook covers, decorative hangings, and more.  She also enjoyed gardening and canned or froze their harvest to share with others.

She was an avid letter writer and sent cards nearly every week of her life.  She was very diligent with birthday and anniversary cards and had a gift for encouraging others.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Roger Clark of Grand Island, Nebraska; a son, John W. Foust of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas; 5 grandchildren, John Clark, Sherma Jones, Philip Foust, Shannon Green, and James Foust; and 10 great-grandchildren.
