Harold Eugene McLean of Piedmont, Kansas died on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka, Kansas at the age of 82.  He was born on April 13, 1931 in Severy, Kansas, the son of Walter Russel and Neva (Simmons) McLean.

Harold was raised in Piedmont, Kansas, attending local schools and graduating in 1949.  After his schooling, he worked on the family farm.  He also was a truck driver, drove a school bus, and was a substitute mail carrier.  On October 31, 1954, he was united in marriage to Nancy Eyvonnie Tucker in Eureka, Kansas.  They made their home in Piedmont.  Harold was a member of the Piedmont United Methodist Church and was a 4-H leader.

Harold is survived by his wife, Eyvonnie; his children, Gloria McLean of El Dorado, Kansas, Crandell McLean of Newcastle, Oklahoma, Joshline McLean of Elk Grove, California, Dana Burke of Eureka, Kansas, Rochelle Schrock of Bennett, Nebraska, Jeff McLean of Piedmont, Kansas, and Eric McLean of Piedmont, Kansas; a sister, Neola Miller of Eureka, Kansas; and 7 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 7, 2014 at Koup Family Funeral Home, 121 N. Oak Street, Eureka, Kansas.  Interment will follow at Piedmont Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to the Greenwood County 4-H Foundation or the Piedmont United Methodist Church.  Contributions may be sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home, P.O. Box 595, Eureka, KS 67045 which is in charge of service arrangements.
