Linda Sue Carinder, age 50, of Cedar Vale, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2013 at the Via Christi St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, Kansas.  She was born on July 2, 1962 in Torrance, California to Ronald Castetter and Carol Jean Light.

She attended schools in Cedar Vale before receiving her GED.  She married Joe Carinder in 1987, and they lived around Chautauqua County, Kansas most of the married life.  He preceded her in death in 2006.

Linda worked for over thirty years in the nursing profession and helped many elderly people throughout her working experience.  She worked as a CNA at the Pleasant Valley Manor in Sedan, Kansas at the time of her death.  She enjoyed going to church, reading with her granddaughter, and especially loved working with the elderly.

Linda is survived by two sons, Dustin Henderson and wife, Rae Ann of Cedar Vale, Kansas and David Henderson of Winfield, Kansas; her mother, Carol Jean (Light) Long and stepfather, Melvin Long, of Cedar Vale, Kansas; two brothers, Rick Castetter of Arkansas City, Kansas and Lucky Castetter of Wichita, Kansas; and one granddaughter, Renee Henderson of Cedar Vale, Kansas.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Carinder.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, May 17, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Peru Cemetery in Peru, Kansas.  Memorials have been suggested to the Linda Carinder Memorial Fund c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home and may be left in care of the David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 209 N. Douglas, Sedan, Kansas 67361 which is in charge of arrangements.
