Mary Ellen Lemon, age 91, a resident of Mineral Wells, Texas for the last 22 years, passed away on February 4, 2013 at Weatherford Regional Hospital in Weatherford, Texas.  She was born on January 1, 1922 in Fredonia, Kansas, the daughter of Edward F. and Mildred (White) Porter.

Mary Ellen was united in marriage to Harvey Ellsworth "Pat" Lemon on February 9, 1938 in Howard, Kansas.  To this union of marriage, four children were born.  Mary Ellen moved to the Elk Falls and Moline, Kansas area as a very young girl and resided there until she moved to Texas.  She was a dedicated wife, mother, and homemaker.  Mary Ellen worked at Elk Manor Nursing Home in Moline, Kansas for 15 years.

Mary Ellen is survived by her her children, Patricia Berry of Independence, Kansas, David Lemon of Mineral Wells, Texas, Janet Patee and husband, Bill of Mineral Wells, Texas, and Joyce Pyle and husband, J.C. of Mineral Wells, Texas; sisters, Wilma Coots of Caney, Kansas, Nina Green and husband, Louis of Springfield, Missouri, and Doris Richmond of Earp, California; brother, Dale Porter of Ozark, Missouri; and 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great grandchildren. 

Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 45 years, Pat; a grandson, Terry Lemon; a great-grandson, Michael Wilson; five brothers, Cecil, Walter, and Claude Baughn and Joe and Jim Porter; and a sister, Nettie Belle Alexander.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 11, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Elk Falls United Methodist Church with Pastor Dena Allison officiating.  Visitation will be held Sunday from 3;00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Countryside-Zimmerman Funeral Home in Howard, Kansas.  Burial will be at the Elk Falls Cemetery.  Online condolences may be left at www.countrysidefh.com.  Memorials have been suggested to the Elk Falls United Methodist Church and may be left with or sent to the funeral Home.  Services have been entrusted to Countryside-Zimmerman Funeral Home, 206 E.
