Joseph Korah Munsinger, son of John and Julia Munsinger, was born January 27, 1855, near Oberlin, Lorraine county, Ohio, and departed this life, June 27, 1932 at the home of his daughters, Mrs. J. W. Moore, Wichita, Kansas.  Age 77 years and 5 months.

At the age of 11 years he moved with his parents to Jones county, Iowa, where he grew to manhood.  On December 20, 1875, he was united in marriage to Edith Eleanor Steward, to this union were born seven children; Mrs. Abbey Gorman, M. M. Munsinger, H. S. Munsinger of Howard, Kansas; Mrs. E. H. Dimity of Los Angeles, California; Mrs. J. W. Moore of Wichita, Kansas, Mrs. L.A. Crutcher of Long Beach, California; Mrs. W. F. Delameter of Borger, Texas.

In 1880 he moved with his wife and family to Smith County, Kansas and in 1890  he moved to Elk County and had been a resident here until his death.

He leaves to mourn his death his seven children, nine grandchildren, three sisters, four brothers and a host of relatives and friends.  His wife and three grandchildren preceeded him in death.  He was a true and loving husband, a kind father, was respected and loved by all who knew him.

He was converted when a young man and united with the United Brethren church.  He was always faithful to his church.  After coming to Howard, he changed his membership to the Howard Christian church in which he was an officer and faithful member until his death.  He was a member of Howard I.O.O.F. Lodge No. 134, served Elk county as sheriff four years, also he served his city as mayor and councilman for a number of years.

Funeral services for the deceased were held at the Christian church in Howard, Thursday, June 30, 1932, at 2 o'clock p.m., conducted by Rev. J. F. Buhalts of LeRoy, Kansas.  Burial was in Grace Lawn cemetery, Howard.
