Remember the chaotic parade scene at the end of the movie "Animal House"... the poor idiot kid standing on the sidewalk yelling, "All is well!, All is well!",  as the entire community was in total disarray.  Maybe the Hollywood types are right when they say movies don't influence society, movies only reflect society as it really is.  Normalcy bias?  Or just plain stupidity?
