Mitchell  E. "Mitch" Camp, 62, of Augusta, Kansas, passed away Monday, June 25, 2012.  He was born in Winfield, Kansas on June 4, 1950 to Ilene (Watson) Camp and the late Leo Delbert Camp.  

He worked as an auto mechanic for over 35 years.  He had owned State Street Auto in Augusta, Kansas and was currently working at Wichita State University.  

On May 15, 2010, he married Karen (Chambers) Camp at Life Church, and she survives him.  He is also survived by a son, Ben Camp and wife, Tera of Augusta, Kansas; a daughter, Jennifer Tolley and husband, Scott of Augusta, Kansas; his mother, Ilene Camp of Augusta, Kansas; a brother, Steven Camp and wife, Debbie of Wichita, Kansas; a sister, Jolene Olson and husband, Greg of Paola, Kansas; grandchildren, Caleb and Colton Camp, Alex DeHaven, and Gracie Tolley; stepsons, Jesse Meek of Wichita, Kansas, and Tony Meek of Tulsa, Oklahoma; stepdaughter, Carla Hinshaw and husband, Cody of Mulvane, Kansas; step-grandchildren, Marek and Logan Hinshaw and Gage and Tony Jolie Meek.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 28, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Headley Funeral Chapel, 813 State Street, Augusta, Kansas.  Service will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 29, 2012 at Life Church in Augusta.  Graveside service will be at 4:00 p.m. Friday, June 29 at Belknap Cemetery in Chautauqua County, Kansas.  Memorial donations may be made to Life Church, 7070 SW 60th Street, Augusta, Kansas 67010.

Very sorry to hear of Mitch's passing.  It's very disturbing when one's comtemporary leaves us this soon.  Clear back in high school, Mitch had a real fondness for cars, which carried over into his life's work as a mechanic.  My sympathies to all of his family, including Deann and her family as well.
