On facebook there are postings that Jack High, Elk Falls, passed away. Does anyone have any knowledge on this?

I knew that he was on the prayer list at church because of a stroke.

Jack E. High, age 73, a resident of Moline, Kansas, passed away Friday, January 28, 2011 at St. John's Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  He was born on September 28, 1937 in Elk City, Kansas, the son of Roy and Thelma (Tharp) High.

Jack grew up in Elk City and graduated from Elk City High School.  On June 10, 1972, he was united in marriage to Linda Hey in Moline, Kansas, and they made their home in Elk Falls, Kansas.  Jack worked for various ranches in Kansas and Oklahoma.  He also worked at Agri-Corp in Longton, Kansas.  He was a member of the Carter-Rader American Legion Post #149 in Howard, Kansas.  Jack mostly enjoyed his grandkids, fishing, hunting, and going someplace for coffee and conversation.

Jack is survived by his wife of 38 years, Linda, of the home; one son, Rodney High of Clearwater, Kansas; two daughters, Tina Trefethen of Independence, Kansas and Amy Hughes of Moline, Kansas; three brothers, Gerald High of Shell Knob, Missouri, Clark High of Coffeyville, Kansas, and Danny High of Independence, Kansas; and nine grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Kim Oliver and Tami High; and one brother, Jim High.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 3, 2011 at the Countryside-Zimmerman Funeral Home in Howard, Kansas with Pastor Robin Haines officiating.  Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at the funeral home.  Interment with military honors by Carter-Rader Post #149 will be at the Moline Cemetery.  Family suggests contributions be made to the Kansas Wildlife and Parks and may be left with the funeral home.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.countrysidefh.com.  Arrangements are under the direction of Countryside-Zimmerman Funeral Home, 206 E.
