You are invited
Everett and Carolyn Wilnerd, of Howard, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with family and friends at the Howard United Methodist Church on Sunday, October 22, 2006, from 3 to 5 pm.

Everett and Carolyn Base were married October 27, 1956, at the New Jerusalem Church in Pawnee Rock, Kansas, with the Reverend Eric Zacharias officiating.

Together they have found
a friendship
formed a union
raised a family
and built a beautiful marriage.

Everett (Tiny) retired in 1997 after serving 34 years with the State of Kansas Wildlife and Parks Commission as a Conservation Officer. He also helped coach the Elk County Wrestling Club for several years, and has been active in supporting several youth in sports.

Carolyn retired in 1996 from the West Elk School District, having taught 40 years in elementary education. She completed her degree from Emporia State in 1981, after attending summer school for numerous years and raising 7 children, all while teaching.

Carolyn and Everett's children are: Susan Galvan, of Howard; Craig Wilnerd and wife Tracillia, of Wichita; Carol Hernandez, Howard; Lauri Ellison, Blanchard, Iowa; Amy Kitchens and husband Carl, Howard; and Andy Wilnerd, Kansas City Missouri. Their youngest son, Scott Wilnerd, passed away in 1993.

Grandchildren include Lacey Lovett; Corey, Courtney and Cameron Galvan; Sharayah Smith; Jessica Wilnerd; Devyn, Laura and Lindsey Weakley; and George Ellison. Great-grandchildren are Ellison Lovett and Lane Crum.

That is a really nice picture of them.

I think I remember them saying Jeannie Conard (Severy) took it.

What a wonderful picture.  I sure didn't know, (until now), that they were celebrating their 50th.  I'll have to try and make it out there.  Was it in the paper and I just missed it?

Mom70x7

Nope - didn't make the paper. It was sent in on time, they just goofed. Major!  :(

It was in last Sunday's Wichita Eagle. I don't know if it will also be in the Independence paper.  ???

There are supposed to be posters around town, maybe in Moline and Severy, from what I've heard.

I do know, though, they would be delighted if you showed up. If lots of people showed up actually.  ;)

Janet Harrington

There are posters around town, so everyone, please show up and wish these two fine people Happy Anniversary.  I'm sure that Carolyn probably taught half of you people and Mr. Wilnerd probably gave the other half of you tickets.  ha ha
