Mary Caroline (LaMont) Miller, age 94, of Eureka, Kansas, died Sunday, August 15, 2010 at Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka, Kansas.  Mary Caroline was born February 23, 1916 in Upola, Kansas, the daughter of Elbert Stuart and Grace Mabel (Ohler) LaMont.

On January 6, 1936, in Howard, Kansas, Mary married Willis Howard Miller.  They operated a cattle ranch north of Howard.  In the late 1970s, Mary and Willis made their winter home in Florida for four years.  In 1980, they moved to Mesa Regal RV Resort in Mesa, Arizona where they lived for 25 years before returning to their home in Howard.

Mary and Willis were married for 69 years until his death on December 18, 2005.  Mary Caroline was a 50 plus year member of the Chapter R, P.E.O.  She was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Howard, Kansas.

Mary is survived by her niece, Karen Shields of Waverly, Iowa.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Willis Miller.

Cremation has been requested, and a memorial service will be held at a later date.  Memorial contributions in her name can be made to the charity of your choice and may be left with the funeral home.  Service have been entrusted to Countryside- Zimmerman Funeral Home, 206 E. Washington, P.O. Box 1233, Howard, Kansas  67349.

A graveside memorial service will be held for Mary Caroline Miller on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Grace Lawn Cemetery in Howard, Kansas.  Memorial contributions in her name can be made to the First Baptist Church of Howard and may be left with the Countryside-Zimmerman Funeral Home.
