Not gonna do any good...  Until we fix the problems with the water plant manager we will have ceptic water to drink!  new water lines are just a new delivery system!  If you have a truck that deliveres shit, nothing is gonna change if you buy a new truck!
Just curious?  When they rip up our yards are they gonna bring them back to level and re-seed, or is gonna be our mess to deal with?

Sunday: 2:00 A.M. My Son tried to cross the low water crossing in Moline, his car was swept away and he nearly died!  He got out of his car and was able to swim to the bank, he lost is car and phone and everything inside  and almost lost is life!
Please will you all explain to others, that you should not cross water that is flowing, just a few inches can take you down stream and end your life!
With all the rain, I thought to myself; "we could have waited a week wondering where he was, only to find he was dead at the bottom of a creekbed!

Since there seems to be a clash between the ordinances in Howard that pertain to blight, maybe there can be some kind of solution. I certainly understand how these ordinances come about, as you can drive through so many communities that look more like a trash heaps than a group of homes. Those with citizens concerned with the appearance of their community as a whole have supported and in many instances succeeded in getting a group of local ordinances passed that improved life as they saw it. Most of these ordinances do not however, allow for cases such as the lady mentioned in this thread. There should really be some kind of process that involves a third party to help resolve these cases. Perhaps a member of the local clergy or the elders of one of the local churches might be named as an unpaid volunteeer to act as ombudsman who works to resolve the issue to the satisfaction of all. As a member of the community this person should know what kind of services might be available for assistance if needed. Notice I said "If needed". All of us know people who just do not care what their property looks like no matter what. And for them the ordinances are in place.

I just spent fifteen minutes jumping up and down chasing a four and five year old boy and girl repectivly!  "There is a Monkey in the house, I wan't my bannana's, bannana's!!!!".  They screamed and giggled, they are in bed now, tired.
Not as tired as this old Man!  Our childeren are wonderful, our future!  I never laughed so hard and it was great to play as a child again.

I personally believe the only thing true about the whole story is the fact that the lady has MS.
And I say this because of what I was told by a lady who claims to know more than I do.
And I consider her a reliable source. I however am not at liberty to digress further.

If what I have heard is really true the shame is on David in my humble opinion.

Sorry you feel that way Ross!  When I started this thread it was only to bring local standard operating procedures and their sometimes unfairness to light!  I gained nothing from this, I was offered help by you and many wonderful caring neighbors, whom I shall pray are blessed!  She needed no help because I have got her back and I did not want her to be embarrassed, it is hard enough when you are sick to bow before anyone...  I certainly have never needed anyone to cover miy back and have never asked!
As to your reliable source, she is obviously a gossip, liar and has a very empty life!  If not she would have had the courage to confront me on these issues that she so so, all knowing in, or at least offer help the way you and many did.
I have to thank you for the offer of help, but I will not tolerate your accusations based on gossip and rumor!
