The Coffee Shop / Re: Elk River Festival
September 15, 2012, 03:39:46 PM
In behalf of the Chamber I would like to apologize for the confusion over the upcoming changes. The Elk River Festival will be transitioning into separate events at least this year.Chamber decided it would be in the best interest of the local businesses to join in with something bigger instead of trying to compete with every other town's activities. We are very grateful to Jennifer Montgomery for her leadership in this area of coordinating Chamber with a bigger group.Dorothy Tiffany is still in charge of local maps and will have those printed out for us that day. This is September 21 and 22nd,2012,with garage and special sales all along the route.
The second event is Howard Business Appreciation Dinner in Jackson Park, with Rusty Rierson. This begins with dinner at 5:30 and entertainment at 7:00PM.Please bring your own lawn chair.
Going back to the original statement,we truly need volunteers. Please contact me,Connie Saxton for your concerns.

The Coffee Shop / Open house prize winners
December 09, 2010, 03:55:25 PM
Several winners of door prizes were announced during Saturday's tree-lighting ceremony in Howard. Fourteen Howard businesses participated in the Chamber of Commerce's Guest Card promotion, in which a card required seven or more stamps from the 14 locations. Those with the required number of stamps were entered in the drawing. Tammy Rogers was the winner of the $50 Chamber Bucks prize.

Diana Brooks of Sedan was the winner of "A Cowboy Christmas," a sculpture of Santa in Western garb. The sculpture was made by Jill Ball of Howard, who donated the piece to the chamber as a fund-raiser.

Other door prize winners announced that evening were Carol Hornbuckle, who won a gift from Red Barn Soap; Florien Rogers and Janice Allen, each of whom won a ham from First National Bank of Howard; Terrell Guillory, Marjean Jacobs, Tammie Rogers and Patti Croney, each of whom won a $5 gift certificate from Elk County General Store; and Michelle Weber, who won a prize from Joanna's Designs.

Several other businesses had giveaways, and preferred to contact their winners rather than have the names announced during the tree lighting.
