Liz,  I really hope you run for re-election again.  You have done a great job!  Please, don't encourage just anyone to run for your position.  Before any citizen votes for a county commission, we need to ask ourselves, "Does it appear this person can manage his/her own personal life sufficiently?"   If not, are they suitable to manage the Counties affairs?

Congrats..Sarge!!!!  Sarge will be putting on a mini-concert on September 12 at Mason's Day, approx. 3:15pm in Longton at the Fairgrounds.  For Sarge groupies.... this is one chance in a life-time to see him perform "live" in this area.
Come early for a good spot... and enjoy watching the Mud-volleyball tournament, eat some BBQ from the BBQ Cook-off, jump on the inflatables and enter the pie eating contest!!!!  Check out www.masonshope.com for more details!!!

Jarhead,  Holtclaw's ran a grocery store in the brick building at Upola.  Mont Edwards also had a grocery store,  they use to buy butter, buttermilk, cream & eggs from local farmers - and had other grocery items.  Don't know where the store was located.  I have a box of papers that MM Edwards wrote alot about his childhood in Upola.  I'll get back with you, if there is mention about the store.
