No wake-up---we aint doing it again. Trying to reason with you is like trying to reason with ol Sarge. I'm better served to go out and talk to the piss-elm tree in my yard !!
Deb, did you see Wake-up's public right away, today ? The lad was mowing them and I think he was actually enjoying himself. He did such a spiffy job I'm gonna ask the mayor to appoint him to mow all the towns ditches.

Right you are wake-up. The corpsman always walked right behind the radioman. That is why when they needed a volunteer to carry the prick-25—I volunteered. I wanted the man with the Darvon's and bandages close by. Maybe I also thought that 25 lb radio might be lighter than all the ammo as an A-gunner for the "pig ", I had to carry. What I didn't know was that the radioman---or "communication specialist" as I preferred to be called, walked right behind the leader whether it was the platoon commander, plt sgt or squad leader---so when the bad guys saw the radio, his goal was to take out the command, communication and corpsman all at the same time---yes sir, that volunteering wasn't the smartest thing Mother Edward's baby boy ever did. The reason the Doc followed the radioman was so the poor soul wouldn't get lost.
Did you know LZ Stud's real name was Vandergrift Combat Base ? They only started calling it LZ Stud when I got there---go figure. OK, that's a big fat windy !!
I have to agree with you that my beloved Corps is part of the Department of the Navy----THE MEN'S DEPARTMENT.
PS: The next time I'm backing out from the post office and you scream like a little girl, just to see me slam on my brakes, I'm getting out and putting an old time Kansas ass whup'n on your swabbie ass.Hell, I thought I had run over some blue hair !!

Wake-up,
I agree with you on thinking I own my place but if I don't pay Matthew, the tax collector, then he/they own it.
On keeping ones yard mowed---can you imagine what the town would look like if half the people let their place go to Johnson grass and green briars ? Say I lived next door to you (thankfully I don't  ) but say I did. I keep my yard well groomed but you let your weeds grow arse deep to a tall Indian. In your case there would be Baby Moon hub caps laying around in the weeds, full of rain water ---a spawning ground for skeeters ! The rats and mice would thrive in your jungle and before you know it the feral cats would move in thinking it was a rodent buffet----then the coyotes would move in to eat the cats---then the timber wolves would move it to eat the yotes---after the rats and mice and the cats and the yotes are all gone where do you think them wolves would go ? That's right---in my well groomed yard to eat Miss Maggie Two Shoes, my crippled dog. I hope I have explained this to where a simple person such as yourself understands. :D
Oh yea---why we have to mow the public right away ?---if we didn't the city would have to hire more employees just to do it and then how would we pay them? Yep, Matthew would want more money. The other alternative would be for the city to spray Round-Up on all the bar ditches and then even you should know what would happen next---no grass roots and the ditches would erode to the point you would need a bridge or a zip line to cross a ravine to get onto your property.

The Good Old Days / Re: Oak Ridge

Waldo,
There was a country school named Oak Ridge in district 68a. At the moment at I can't locate the school map frawin gave me but for some reason I am thinking it was east of Busby near the Wilson county line----but my old memory aint what it used to be so Frank---help me out here. Not sure if the school had anything to do with a postmaster.

Hump, my friend. Why must I always have to come to your rescue ? You want rid of those pesky little dive bombers---call in the Marines. First I would call in a Phantom to drop some snake and nape---just to soften them up---then a few rounds of 155 arty to drive my point home---then walk some 81 Mike-Mikes , Hotel Echo ( High Explosive )  across their AO. After the smoke clears I would then send the Navy Corpsman up front to "tag'm and bag'm"----and to check for any remaining resistance !
Wake-Up! might not agree with me on the last thing I would do. ;D

A letter to the NFL commissioner:

Commissioner,
I've been a season pass holder at Yankee Stadium, Yale Bowl and Giants Stadium.
I missed the '90-'91 season because I was with a battalion of Marines in Desert Storm. 14 of my wonderful Marines returned home with the American Flag draped across their lifeless bodies. My last conversation with one of them, Sgt Garrett Mongrella, was about how our Giants were going to the Super Bowl. He never got to see it.
Many friends, Marines, and Special Forces Soldiers who worked with or for me through the years returned home with the American Flag draped over their coffins.
Now I watch multi-millionaire athletes who never did anything in their lives but play a game, disrespect what brave Americans fought and died for. They are essentially spitting in the faces and on the graves of real men, men who have actually done something for this country beside playing with a ball and believing they're something special! They're not! My Marines and Soldiers were!

You are complicit in this!
You'll fine players for large and small infractions but you lack the moral courage and respect for our nation and the fallen to put an immediate stop to this. Yes, I know, it's their 1st Amendment right to behave in such a despicable manner. What would happen if they came out and disrespected you or the refs publicly?
I observed a player getting a personal foul for twerking in the end zone after scoring. I guess that's much worse than disrespecting the flag and our National Anthem. Hmmmmm, isn't it his 1st Amendment right to express himself like an idiot in the end zone?
Why is taunting not allowed yet taunting America is OK? You fine players for wearing 9-11 commemorative shoes yet you allow scum on the sidelines to sit, kneel or pump their pathetic fist in the air. They are so deprived with their multi-million dollar contracts for playing a freaking game! You condone it all by your refusal to act. You're just as bad and disgusting as they are. I hope Americans boycott any sponsor who supports that rabble you call the NFL. I hope they turn off the TV when any team that allowed this disrespect to occur, without consequence, on the sidelines. I applaud those who have not.
Legends and heroes do NOT wear shoulder pads. They wear body armor and carry rifles.
They make minimum wage and spend months and years away from their families. They don't do it for an hour on Sunday. They do it 24/7 often with lead, not footballs, coming in their direction. They watch their brothers carted off in pieces not on a gurney to get their knee iced. They don't even have ice! Many don't have legs or arms.
Some wear blue and risk their lives daily on the streets of America. They wear fire helmets and go upstairs into the fire rather than down to safety. On 9-11, hundreds vanished. They are the heroes.
I hope that your high paid protesting pretty boys and you look in that mirror when you shave tomorrow and see what you really are, legends in your own minds. You need to hit the road and take those worms with you!
Time to change the channel.

But in my opinion Trump (whom I do not like) is the lesser of two evils.
There is really nothing else to vote for.

Nothing new here. Seems like that has pretty much been our option for way too many elections anymore.

Two years? That is an out and out lie.  You couldn't possibly know. What is wrong with you?  Why are you posting lies about me? Perhaps the Sheriff should know. I feel like I'm being stalked.

Diane,
I hate to intrude into yours and Ross's love fest but I wonder if ol Ross came up with that number of two years of teaching for you from what you told us several years back. You said you started teaching in 1966 then found out you had a chalk dust allergy so had to quit and started "riding " in the ambulance in 1969. That silly ol Ross needs to dust up on his math. If I figure right you taught for possibly three years. Am I right or do I need to go sit in the corner with Ross ?

The UN is just an NGO that our Government bows down too !

Right you are there Ross.Just like the Brits told the EU, it's way past time we tell the UN where to stick it and take their business elsewhere. Without the billions the USA pours into it every year it would probably fold like a bad poker hand.
