The Coffee Shop / Re: Prayers for Jenny Diveley
September 07, 2010, 10:00:17 AM
Thank you all for your prayers and encouragement!  We are overwhelmed by the support and the prayers have been felt in every moment.  Ethan is doing very well and broke the 3 pound mark last night, now weighing 3 pounds, 1 ounce!  He'll continue his stay in the NICU for several more weeks.  I'm hoping to bring him home mid-October....we'll see!  We still need continued prayers for Ethan as he is weaned from his CPAP machine, regulates his own body temp, and learns to feed out of a bottle.  We travel to Topeka about every other day, so I'm counting on those angels to get us there safely each time!  Thanks again for everything!

The Coffee Shop / Prairie Star Facebook Page
March 09, 2010, 07:11:09 PM
Hello everyone!  If you have a Facebook account, be sure to add the Prairie Star as a friend!  We originally set up a business account and it got hacked this week, so I went back to a regular account, which will give me a little more flexibility.  You still have to search for "Taylor Newspapers" but I assure you that this page is dedicated only to the Prairie Star!  We hope that this will be an extension of our newspaper to the readers we serve!

Thanks!

The Coffee Shop / Wine tasting location changed
October 09, 2009, 08:46:28 AM
This story was copied from the Prairie Star website:

By Linda Cooke
Due to present and predicted weather conditions for tomorrow, Oct. 10, we must change the wine tasting location to the Rebecca Hall on Wabash Street, opposite the Cox Building in Howard. The rental fee has been generously donated to the ECCEF also. There is good parking and easy access if we do have some rain.

We welcome anyone to buy tickets at the door. The event will start at 3 p.m., and go for at least several hours. So please stop by even if you have to be late. We will have appetizers and non-alcoholic beverages also.

The Coffee Shop / Find the smiley!
September 25, 2009, 08:19:13 AM
Be sure to look for the smiley face in this week's edition of the Prairie Star!  Send in your entry by email and we'll get you entered in the drawing for $20 and the final drawing for a new iPod Nano.  It's hidden well this week, so you'll have to look hard!  It can be hidden anywhere in the entire newspaper.  Happy hunting!

The Coffee Shop / Smiley face news
September 16, 2009, 03:28:28 PM
Have you started looking for the smiley face in this week's edition (Sept. 16) of the Prairie Star?  If you have already started your search or are just preparing to, search no further.

Due to my own error, the smiley face was left out of this week's edition.  There is even an ad promoting it on page 2, but I still managed to leave it out during the last minutes of rushing through deadline.

We will continue the contest next week!  Please pass this message on to those who may be looking for it as they may injure their eyes looking for something that's not there!  And I hope that you still enjoy reading the Prairie Star and are able to smile.

The Coffee Shop / Re: FOUND THE SMILEY FACE

Oh, no!  How embarrassing!  I use a template with those headers ready to go and must have just seen "Happenings" in the header and grabbed it.  You know, we Taylors are just short of perfection (insert joke here), but when we do make a mistake it's out there for the world to see!  Sorry Jo...I'll get it right this week!

Hi Tobina,
Yes, I walked by and saw you several times but you were a busy lady so I didn't bother you!  We had a parade entry just a couple behind you.

Be sure to watch the new video taken from part of the Elk County Fair at Howard this past weekend.  It is located on the Prairie Star website, or follow this link:  http://www.taylornews.org/pst/2009/07/22/elk-county-fair-at-howard-video/

I don't know if any of you will see this again, but try to watch the video on our website again.  We'll run all videos through YouTube now which will save space on our server and should allow everyone to see them!  Here is the link:

(If you've already looked at this page recently, you may need to "refresh" it in order for the new video to come up.)  If you don't mind, let me know if this works any better!  Thanks so much!
