Excuse me for being uninformed but what is "shanks mare"?

Forgive me that I mistook the article about T W Custer, I thought that is was about George Custer.  I don't know to much about this Custer.  Is there any books written about the forgotten Custers?

I know about that night because I went to the soxhop dance that was being held.  I didn't know about the accident until Mother received a phone call that next morning.  After she hung up the phone, she held me close first than told me about the accident.  Larry Knight was in my class at Severy.

I disagree with Custer being a hero.  He was a hothead and had an ego that knew no boundary.  He won two medal of honors during the civil war or the war between the states if you are a southerner but he won those medals through his ruthlessness.  He should not have split his troops and waited for artillery before attacking the camp.  Custer was told the size of camp by his Crow scouts and they knew that it would have been suicidal if they attack without reenforcement.  Custer's officers hated him.  I know that it was sign of the times that the saying "a good indian was a dead indian."  But to kill women and children during these engagments what I considered cowardly.  On the History channel did an show on the Battle of Little Big Horn if it ever come on again watch it.  It might clear up a lot questions.

If prices keep going up then we may have to start Victory gardens for our vegatables.

I believe that we, the people, should ask, no demand that the government should help bring back the passenger trains that use to travel around to small towns or bring back the bus service (greyhound bus) that made stops at small towns so we can travel back or forth to Wichita and other larger cities for our Dr. appointments and other appointments that we need to keep.  The price of gas is going to be so high that those who are on limited budget can't get to a Dr. appointment or to therapies that will keep us healthly.  I travel to Wichita once a week to Dr. appointments and therapy sessions.  I would like to see train service here or bus service.  The vehicle that I drive gets 23 to 24 gallon per mile.  I, also, go to Wichita State University to volunteer in an Archaeological lab for two hours on the same day that I have my Dr. appointment.

The article on Obama written by Shireen K. Burki is from the ABC News, who sometimes blow everything out of proportion.  Sometimes anything that is written should be taken with a grain of salt.  People who write articles like this have blinders on and are looking down their noses.  We, as Americans, need to look at all sides of the picture and make the best of it.  Let the voters decide in November.

I agree with my mother (Wilma) that I will not pollute my mind.  I watched programs that educate me and make my laugh.  Such as the Mythbusters on Discovery Channel,  Cities of the Underworld on History channel, or the Animal Channel.  Sherlock Holmes stated to Dr. Watson, "That a man's mind is like an attic."  I don't remember that rest of the statement but the jest is "if you watch junk, your mind will cram with junk; but if you watch shows that educate, your mind will be fill knowledge."  It is up to the public that will sent a message that young actresses need to dress appropriatly in public and the shows need to stop glorify violents.  Bring back games show on prime time.
