September 02, 2011, 12:39:45 AM
Im done buying the local paper, why is it death notices and who doing what in moline can get in the paper in a timely manner within a couple days.  But Howard chamber meetings or school board meeting not until after the next meeting, sometimes 5 or 6 weeks later before it hits the paper.

The Coffee Shop / Windmill promises?
September 02, 2011, 12:08:26 AM
Remember in the planning for the windmills, "they" said there will be 200 workers in town! that will all be spending money.  I was in howard the other day for some groceries, and scratched my head, and wondered if the windmills are in full swing where are these so called 200 workers, Main st looked almost like a sunday only a couple cars, but it was Wednesday.  So I guess my question is if that promise was broken, what other promises may be broken?

If Howard is in stage 1 water warning, and residents are told to conserve water, ie, not water grass, dont wash car, then why is it ok to go to the car wash next to the gas station and put your 1.25 in and wash your car there?

The Coffee Shop / Re: The City of Howard, Shame!!!

The city enforcement officer is a joke, What has he actually done since he bagan getting paid so many months ago.  Houses still look like crap, empty and about to fall down on randolph, and that guy on adams has more rotting lawn mowers than ever, in between the weeds, forget about even trying to use the sidewalk by his house.  If you fine one of these people, do you think they are going to pay it, just see if their name is in the paper for taxes.

Survey? When did this survey thing supposedley nappen? This is the first time that I heard about a survey.

Just before they started recieving all those $50 donations from 60 unknown people to start Elk Konnected, they mailed out the survey's to 140 unknown people, .just like the unknow names on all those suggestions on their liist shown at
http://www.cascity.com/howard/forum/index.php/topic,11780.0.html

That's the whole point. No one knows anything at all about Elk Konnected. Except they use people behind closed doors they call followers in the open they call them volunteers. Do you get it now?

Who are the admitted members or the registered members or the owners that steer the steering committee?

The state should give the public employees ie. teachers, the option to opt out of kpers.  and going further all working people should have the option to opt of of medicare and social security
