Senator Dick Durbin of Illinois pushed legislation to redesign the penny through Congress, and it is probably no coincidence that the new penny directly attacks the rejuvenated interest in State's rights and Tenth Amendment issues across the United States.

Most young people of today could care less. It was so long ago to them that it means little. They consider Desert Shield and Desert Storm ancient history and don't consider any of it relevant to themselves. If it doesn't hook to the internet, have a key pad or involve some kind of ball, they aren't that much into it.
