Picture this. Ravens backed up to their goal line, attempting to punt. Chiefs defending. Now, I said Chiefs defending. The ball is snapped, the punter receives the ball, a Chief hits him at the same time. Get the picture? The punter goes down, the ball goes into the end zone, three Chiefs land on the ball, the ball squirts out, another Chief lands on it. TOUCHDOWN, CHIEFS!!!!!!!!! And the Chiefs had yet to make a first down. Score at halftime. Chiefs 7, Ravens 10. GO, CHIEFS. Back to the game.
GO CHIEFS! 8) NO CHEFS! >:( GO CHIEFS! 8) NO CHEFS! >:(
Final score: Chiefs, 24: Ravens 38.
Charlie, what do you mean, no chefs? They all looked like Chiefs helmets to me.
I, like many, cannot ever get fully behind the KC NFL team. When they win it's hands in the air saying "GO CHIEFS". When they lose it's head hanging down shaking side-to-side saying "NOOOOO . . . blankety-blank CHEFS"
I'm getting a little tired of hanging my head! :-X :D
What I thought of was the Snickers commercial of a few years back when the Chiefs were riding rather high.
The Chiefs grounds keeper mistakenly painted CHEFS in huge letters in the end zone and he did not discover the error until he was finished. He had to have Snickers bar and chill out before he started over.
I remember that. It is easy enough to do. While I was typing I thought I had left out an i, but found that I hadn't.
Is anyone besides me getting tired of all the 'throwback' uniforms this season. I mean come on, the Chiefs had the state of Texas on the sides of their helmets today. I think Lamar Hunt would be rolling over in his grave if he knew the team he started was paying homage to the city and state that gave him so much support that he up and moved it to KC.
Most of the old uniforms I don't like, but the San Diego and Denver old uniforms are still looking good.
OK, you guys, is this a day that everybody is wearing old uniforms? I hope so. Denver's yellow and brown with striped stockings is atrocious. I thought everybody was just getting new uniforms. And I don't like the shirts the AFL officials are wearing. Help me here. I am new at being able to watch football.
No, I don't think all teams are wearing throwback uniforms but most are including some of the referees. It is for the fifty years of AFL and will last most of the season.
Something to look forward to. The old uniforms. Almost as good as a fashion show.
From wikipedia
For the 2009 season, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the founding of the American Football League and the Dallas Cowboys, the Cowboys and the eight charter members of the AFL will wear throwback uniforms from the early 1960s on select "Legacy Weekends."

Broncos notes: Throwback uniforms have vertical-striped socks

As this week's throwback jerseys have made it into their lockers, the Denver Broncos players can understand why there was a bonfire to burn them.
The Broncos and Patriots will wear throwback uniforms for Sunday's game to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the AFL. The Patriots got the better end of that deal.
Denver's uniforms will be yellow shirts with brown numerals, brown pants and the most infamous part of the 1960-61 style outfits: vertically striped yellow and brown socks.
"The design is awful," tight end Daniel Graham said.
Gene Mingo was one of the original Broncos players. He wore the colors in the first-ever AFL game between the Broncos and Patriots in 1960, and scored the game-winning points on a punt return for a touchdown. He said opposing fans would heckle the team and said they looked like clowns because of the hideous socks, but Mingo said he still loves the jerseys because he was proud to be a pro football player.
"You can talk about this brown and gold all you want," said Mingo, who wore the jersey at a press conference Wednesday and will be an honorary captain for Sunday's game. "It means a lot to me."
Jerseys won't be the only throwback aspect of Sunday's game. The Patriots will be referred to by their original "Boston Patriots" name throughout the game, cheerleaders will wear old-time uniforms and the program cover will have an early AFL feel. And Broncos coach Jim Saccomano said the vertical socks are a hot seller at the team store.
"I'm not upset I'm not wearing the vertical socks, but I think it's a neat thing for the league to wear the throwback uniforms," Broncos coach Josh McDaniels said. "You might feel a little funny for half of pregame warmups but I think it's a great thing for the league."
Players aren't quite as excited to wear the uniforms.
"I love them, what are you all talking about?" safety Brian Dawkins said tongue-in-cheek. "It is what is. Whether you like them or not, it is what it is."
