Title: They Got Their Pet Back
Post by: W. Gray on August 23, 2009, 04:32:46 PM
Adams County, Colorado, is just north of us and a good part of it is urban area.

Last Thursday, a couple's pet named Mali rammed its way through their backyard gate and took off.

A little while later on a busy public street, a car swerved to miss Mali and then stopped. The occupants took the pet to an animal control shelter and went on about their business.

After a television story in which the couple pleaded for the return of Mali, the animal control shelter called the owners.

Mali is a 2.5 foot long, 40-pound sulcata tortoise from Africa--legal in the U.S. The expected growth is 100 to 200 pounds.

a stray came to my granddaughter's house in Emporia.  He was well groomed so she knew he belonged to somebody.  She called animal control to see if anyone had reported him missing.  They hadn't but she was told to bring him in and they would scan for a "chip".  He was chipped and the owned lived in Texas.  They called them and seems they were visiting in Emporia, were ready to leave and the dog disappeared and they were unable to find it.  Long story short, they returned to Emporia and reunited with their pet.
