According to His Royal Highness, the Prince of Wales, we only have 96 months left to save the planet. I'm impressed. 96 months. Not 95. Not 97. July 2017. Put it in your diary. Usually the warm-mongers stick to the same old drone that we only have ten years left to save the planet. Nice round number. Al Gore said we only have ten years left three-and-a-half years ago, which makes him technically more of a pessimist than the Prince of Wales. Al's betting Armageddon kicks in January 2016 -- unless he's just peddling glib generalities.
Hmmmmm.... I wonder.... would ol' Al do that?
You bet your "sweet bippies" That a maybe a tad more.
Uh...Prince Chuck talks to trees...And Al-Baby can't seem to do anything constructive to help anyone other than himself...I wouldn't trust either of these individuals to give me a prediction on what mankind or nature will be doing in the future. I would put more trust in the Mayan calendar than them! lol
What was the Mayan calender? 2012?
Yea.. Dec 23 2012...
and not the end of the world but the final 4th shifting of the world "as we know it"..

This is a link to info on the Mayan prophecy.
I've always been interested in the whole "end of the world" deal. The most curious thing about it is that across so many ancient cultures, they all pretty much say the same thing is going to happen at about the same time. My brother is a geologist and he always talks about the event being either a shift of magnetic north or a switch of the poles, something along those lines. It makes you realize that all these silly political arguments we have don't really matter in the end. But they sure are fun.
I agree Anmar, in the end home and family are what is important.
When talking about the end of the world we should mention Solar flares, and meteors.

There is a book sitting in my bookcase gathering dust titled, "The Mystery of 2012" by a slew of many prominent thinkers and Ph.D's of the day. I picked it up at a garage sale for a buck. Maybe I'll read it... maybe I won't. I'll keep it. I can probably sell it to Slappy, the middle of 2012, for five bucks.
Nah, Slappy is onto you, pal. He ain't gonna fork over five bucks for a book that he doesn't care about.

Here is an interesting thought for you.
What if you bought a book about the end of the world and in the preface it states that when you finish the book the world will end just like the book. Would you still read it? Or maybe just not finish it? OR, what if someone else reads it, will your world end or just theirs?
I spent a lot of time in the sun today watching my granddaughter play sports and learn how to swim and I think I have sunstroke!

Twilight Zone anyone?
I've got and read 3 of the books about the Mayan prophecy. not easy reads by a long shot.. but very very interesting..

Ah, but they say there is a book out there in Wonderland, Larry.... just like the way you described, tho' I have never read it.... it is called "The Audacity of Hope: Thoughts on Reclaiming the American Dream" by Barry Hussein Obama
Thanks for the info. Warph. I didn't know that book existed. I probably won't read it either considering who wrote it.
Teresa, I am only "funnin" here. I didn't mean to upset anyone.
Besides, if the world were to end, nobody would be able to stop it and we might not even know it happened. OR, maybe it has already ended and we are just fooling ourselves here.
Is there a cure for sunstroke? or brain malfunction (mine)? Or, Lunacy (me)?
Come on, my friends, lets smile and get on with life and make the best of it. When I get to read all the wonderful posts on this forum, my day is starting out great.
Thanks
