I found this in an album from my mother's 90th birthday bash. I am pretty sure that it isn't original with any of the people that attended. Maybe some of you might have an idea.
Dear A? A? A? Well, anyway,
Just a line or two to say I am living,
and I am not yet among the dead.
But I am getting more forgetful,
and I am a little mixed up in my head.
Sometimes I can't remember as I
stand at the foot of the stairs,
If I am going up for something or
I've just come down from there.
I stand before the fridge so often,
my poor mind fills with doubt.
If I just put food away or
I've come to take some out.
So, if it's my turn to write or call you,
there's no need in getting sore!
I may think I already done so
and just don't want to be a bore.
But never-the-less, I DO LOVE YOU
and wish that you were here.
Now, it's nearly mailing time,
so I'll just say good-bye, my dear.
As I stand before the mail-box,
with my face turning very red!
Instead of mailing you this letter,
I've opened it instead!
I got used to my arthritis,
to my dentures, I've resigned.
I can manage my bifocals,
but O-LORD, I sure do miss my mind!
YOURS TRUELY
UNK
Love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D ;D
